Much of the mental health aid to first responders has traditionally been applied after mental injury has already occurred, while little has been done to prevent the issues in the first place. Our Mental Health Resiliency Training course for first responders teaches practical strategies that have been proven to prevent or reduce the impact of mental injury.
Focusing less on the problems and more on the solutions, the course is an evidence-based curriculum developed from decades of both clinical research and real world success stories; however, much of the concepts are relatively new to first responder culture.
The course goal is a balanced resiliency of mind, body, and spirit. The methods we teach require the discipline of practice, but are easy to learn and easy to apply. They improve over time and can continue to stabilize mental health over a career.
While there is no magic formula that will create an immunity to mental struggles, the principles and tools we teach are extremely efficient in reducing the likelihood of such impairments, while decreasing the impact of such issues if they do occur. Our resiliency training also helps to create a quicker and healthier state of recovery if indeed afflicted by mental injury.
The presentation is engaging, interactive, and practical, focusing most of its content on authentic solutions to common mental health issues among first responders, including PTSD, accumulative stress, addiction, anger management, burnout, and anxiety.
